Entering Mileage in the Vehicle File
When you enter a vehicle into your inventory, there is a field for you to enter the mileage of the vehicle. The mileage that you enter here should be the mileage displayed on the odometer. Under this field, there is a field for "Mileage Is" with a pull-down menu. From this menu, you can choose "Actual," "Excess," or "Discrepancy." Select "Actual" if the mileage on the odometer is the actual mileage, "Excess" if the mileage showing on the odometer is the mileage after the odometer has turned over once and "Discrepancy" if the mileage on the odometer is not the actual mileage of the vehicle.
Mileage at the Time of Sale
When you select a vehicle while entering a sale, the field labeled "Actual Mileage At The Time of Sale" will automatically import the mileage you entered on that vehicle's inventory screen. If the vehicle has been driven since it was entered into inventory, you may need to update this mileage. In some cases, perhaps for older vehicles, you may not want, nor is it necessary for the mileage to display on forms. In these instances you can input the word "EXEMPT". Simply type what you would like to print of forms in the field labeled "Mileage to Print on Forms".
Changing Mileage After a Sale
If, after a sale has been completed, you need to change the mileage that was entered for the actual mileage at the time of the sale or change the mileage that prints on forms, select the customer through Customer Activity Click on B - Customer Processing, and then A - Customer Information and Costs. On the first window, General Customer Information, there is a box entitled "Mileage at Sale". Here you can reenter the actual mileage at the time of the sale, and change the mileage that prints on your forms. If you don't change the mileage using this method, and instead change the mileage in the vehicle information, it will update the vehicle file, but will NOT change any information regarding the sale.
